Privacy Policy — Botanica Idle

Last updated: 16 August 2026

Botanica Idle ("the Game") is developed and published by Funloop Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the Game collects, why, who it is shared with, and what rights you have over it.

The short version

The Game has no accounts and no login. Your progress is stored on your own device. We do not sell your data. The data that does leave your device is limited to crash diagnostics and, if you allow it, advertising.

Data stored only on your device

Your saved game — plants, progress, currencies, settings — is written to your device's private app storage and is not transmitted to us. If you enable Android's system backup, your device may copy this file to your own Google Drive under Google's terms; we have no access to it.

The Game offers a "Transfer save" feature that shows your save as a text code so you can move it between devices yourself. That code is produced on your device and is only shared if you choose to share it.

Data collected by third-party services

ServiceWhat it collectsWhy
Sentry
(crash reporting)
Crash and error reports, including device model, operating system version, graphics hardware, app version, a randomly generated installation identifier, and a short trail of recent in-game actions. No name, email or contact details. To find and fix crashes and bugs.
Google AdMob
(advertising)
Advertising ID, IP address, device and usage signals used to select and measure ads. To show optional rewarded video ads. Ads are never forced — you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward.
Google Play Billing
(purchases)
Purchase records associated with your Google account. Payment details are handled entirely by Google and are never seen by us. To deliver in-app purchases and restore them if you reinstall.

These providers act as independent data controllers for the data they collect. Their own policies apply: Sentry, Google.

Advertising and your choices

Ads in the Game are rewarded video only: they appear solely when you tap a button to watch one, and never interrupt play.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising data is processed, and you can change your choice at any time from the Game's Options screen. Where you decline, ads may still be shown but will not be personalised.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.

Children

The Game is a mixed-audience app: it is not directed exclusively at children, but it may appeal to and be used by a general audience that includes children. The Game does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone beyond what is strictly necessary to run it (see "Data we collect" above), regardless of age.

Where the Game asks a player's age, or otherwise determines that a player is a child under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), that player is shown child-directed advertising treatment: no personalised ads, and no Advertising ID is used for ad personalisation or tracking for that player. Players not identified as children receive the ad experience described above under "Advertising", including the EEA/UK/Switzerland consent flow.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data outside of what is described here, contact us and we will delete it.

How long data is kept

Crash reports are retained by Sentry for up to 90 days and then deleted. Advertising and purchase data are retained by Google under its own retention schedules. Your saved game stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Game.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for advertising at any time. Because the Game has no accounts, we usually cannot identify which data belongs to you — if you want a crash report deleted, please contact us with the approximate date and your device model and we will do our best to locate and remove it.

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the Game's data practices change, and the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes affecting advertising consent will be surfaced in the Game.
